Pint-sized autos seems to be the theme of this year’s Frankfurt auto show, with Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] the latest in a long line of carmakers expected to present new small car concepts at the upcoming show.

The Blue Oval will be showcasing a concept version of its next-generation Fiesta hatch that’s due for launch late next year.

The new Fiesta will be the first Ford designed by the carmaker’s new global engineering team. Ford’s development Chief Derrick Kuzak has previously mentioned that the Fiesta is being designed for all global markets and would be tuned differently for specific markets with a few minor styling revisions. The car will initially be launched in Europe but it’ll eventually be sold in the US, South America and Australasia.

The new Fiesta is expected to shed the conservative styling of the current model in favor a sleek and sporty profile with elements of Ford’s ‘Kinetic Design’ thrown in. The concept will also depict a new styling theme that will be used for future small Fords including the next Ka minicar.

As well as the Fiesta, Ford will also be displaying its new Kuga crossover which you can catch a preview of by clicking here.
