In a curious bit of timing, Volvo today released details of two cars it plans to exhibit at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show to be held in Las Vegas Oct. 30 - Nov. 2, 2007. Performance-tuned versions of the S80 and C30 will each be making appearances.

The S80, tuned by Heico Sportiv, will house a 350hp bioethanol powerplant. The car's aluminum-look paint job is sure to turn heads, even at the flashy SEMA floor show. All wheel drive and a sport-tuned suspension round out the high-performance pedigree of this Swedish specialty.

The extra power is extracted from the 6-cylinder engine via a turbocharger and the use of E85 fuel. Peak horsepower is found at 5500rpm while the incredible 550Nm of torque is on tap between 1500 and 4000rpm. These stats should propel the big sedan to 100km/h in a quick 5.8s. Heico Sportiv holds out hopes that the power will be increased even further before the car lands in Vegas.

The C30 will sport a 300hp T5 that will make the run to 100km/h in only 5.4s. With a 40mm lower stance thanks to sport shocks and springs, the C30, also tuned by Heico Sportiv, should handle the curves as well as the 4-pot, 326x30mm brakes haul things back from the electronically-governed top speed of 250km/h.
