Kia has taken the covers off its new Kee Sports Coupe Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show today, revealing a dynamic coupe characterized by a broad stance and low profile. The new concept was designed and constructed in Europe under the guidance of Chief Design Officer Peter Schreyer, formerly of Audi, and is the follow up to the stylish ex_cee’d cabrio concept car from the Geneva Show.

Under the long hood is a ‘next-generation’ 2.0L V6 engine developing 200hp as well as a six-speed automatic transmission. Other features include LED headlights, 2+2 seating and 20in alloys.

Speaking at the show, Schreyer commented that the sports coupe was not simply a “flight of fancy,” which suggests Kia could be working on a new affordable sports car. Schreyer also revealed that the concept “incorporates a host of elements that will become the new face of Kia right across the product range and it is the clearest design statement about the way Kia is to be seen in the future.”
