Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson gets a chance to drive Volkswagen's Golf GTI W12 650 concept car on the latest episode of Top Gear, and as you'd expect the 6.0L bi-turbo W12 shoe-horned under the bonnet is nothing short of amazing. This hot little hatch pumps out 650hp and 750Nm through the rear wheels and does the 0-100km/h in three and half seconds. Check out the video to find out what its like to drive a real 'pocket rocket' or click here for our original story.

  3. It is pretty cool I suppose, but I liked this car better when they built it France. The R5 Turbo was every bit as outrageous in its day, Same basic idea: cheap hatchback with the engine in the back driving the rear wheels, the difference... I'm no fan of the French, but at least they had the balls to actually sell the whacky things. Also as the guys at Top Gear point out, having all that W12 magnificence in a Golf shaped package can't be a real easy sell.
