The new Audi Q5 was revealed less than a month ago but already we have images of the new S-Line package from quattro GmbH for the midsize SUV. The S-Line pack helps to improve the Q5’s handling thanks to the addition of a stiffened suspension kit as well as optional 20in alloy wheels wrapped in 255mm performance tires.

Other modifications to the car’s exterior include black exterior window trim roof rails, a polished grille and matching mesh pattern air vents surrounding the fog lights. Inside, the car gets new sports seats with electrically adjustable lumbar support and layered with Nappa leather or Alcantara trim with an embossed S-Line logo embroidered into the seat back. Other features include a three spoke multifunction steering wheel with perforated leather, brushed aluminum inlays and S-Line badging in the door sills.

The Q5’s mechanical package has been left untouched, which means you get a choice of one petrol engine, or one of two different TDI diesel units. You can read more about the new Q5 in our original launch story by clicking here.

  6. Mmm, that V6 TDI just sounds luscious. Let's review: 30MPG, 0-60 in 6.5 seconds, AWD, 5 seats plus room for cargo, Audi interior quality, and to top it off absolutely stunningly good looks. Sounds like a winner to me! I think maybe I'll be buying one of these in a years time or so. That is unless Audi actually comes out with a real S version with even more performance, then I might go for that one instead.

  7. 5 seats, and room for cargo, isn't that pretty much available in a station wagon format with better mileage?
I mean, unless you tow things or go off road, I just don't get these things...

  8. Well it looks better than a station wagon to some people, and they enjoy sitting higher and having the ability to go off-road, "just in case". The same argument could be used for 2+2 coupes vs. sedans. Sedans are more practical, roomier and cheaper, yet most people lust after coupes because they find them sexier. If you are going to say that coupes are sportier, just check out the M3 sedan. The difference in performance / handling vs. the coupe version is almost nonexistent (and certainly will be to 99% of the people who end up buying one).

  10. Seriously don't see the point of cars like this, why not A4 Avant? Also i personally find small soft roaders seems to be more suited to female drivers, if i'm getting a SUV, i want the full size Range Rover

  11. I agree with FireFox. Station wagons are just not as popular as these midsize SUV’s. Especially when your view of traffic in an A4 Avant can be totally blocked by a lowly Sienna minivan that gets in front of you. People want that better view that’s inside these vehicles
Look at how Subaru tries to shake off the “tall station wagon” image in their new Forester, and claim it’s a true SUV now.

  12. I received my Q5 S-line last week - picked up directly from the factory in Ingolstadt.
The car is really fantastic. It is the best car I have bought so far (owned an Audi A6 and Mercedes SUV before). I can only recommend to any one who is considering buying a new luxury SUV. BTW, choose the leather and alcantara sport seats. The combination is great and very comfortable. It consider it better than a pure leather seating.
Also I can really recommend the 20" alloy wheels shown in the pictures. They make the ride a bit harder, but the in combination with the sports suspension they feel like you are driving on tracks ... really good!
