No injuries were reported, but alleged film star and stunt spouse Katie Holmes is one lucky bit player today after an on-set accident involving a car. A part of a car, actually.

The daughter of a divorce lawyer, the Toledo native escaped serious injury after the battery in a car used on the set of her latest movie blew up. Smoke and fumes filled the car, RadarOnline says, before it eventually caught fire.

The new film, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, is in production in Australia. It's a redo of a 1973 flick about a woman hunted down by evil gnomes.

While his wife evaded evil gnomes on one continent, Holmes' husband Tom Cruise is said to have dined safely at a four-star bottega in Santa Monica, a mere 8000 miles away.

Holmes' screen credits include Teaching Mrs. Tingle, Phone Booth, Muppets from Space and her nearly three-year marriage to Cruise.

For fun, here's Holmes mocking a chanteuse who actually turned a Venus-meets-Mars marriage into a few Oscar noms. (Nope, it's not Judy Garland!)

Wait, she was in Dawson's Creek, too!
