Goodguys Rod and Custom association will be giving away a 1970 Mustang restomod dubbed the "Boss Snake" for their 2010 Grand Prize.  The 1970 "Boss Snake" Mustang muscle car was designed by Kaucher Kustoms with assembly being done by Max-G Systems out of Fogelsville, PA.  Under the hood the Boss Snake will be powered by a Jon Kaase built 429 Ford Hemi motor.  The Mustang will also feature a complete Max-G suspension system, custom one-off Intro wheels and Boss Snake Graphics.  The paint will be a special PPG/Goodguy Yellow blend.  Look for this vehicle to debut at Westworld in Scottsdale, AZ on March 12th.

The "Boss Snake" is a concept based on the rare QuarterHorse Mustang of which only two prototypes exist.  The QuarterHorse Mustangs were considered as a possible replacement for the Boss 429 and Shelby Mustangs.  The two prototypes were built by Kar Kraft Company in Brighton, Michigan.  The body's used for both were stock 1970 Boss 429's with the front clip off a Shelby Mustang less the hood scoops.  The dash came courtesy of a Mercury Cougar.  Of the two prototypes the first QuarterHorse (KK 2061) was painted Grabber Blue and housed a Boss 429 engine.  The engine was then replaced with a 429 SCJ and sent off to Hollywood star Burt Reynolds for aTV series called "Dan August".  The second QuarterHorse was painted Candy Apple Red and fitted with a 429 SCJ engine.  Both cars have survived over the years and are resting in the hands of collectors.
