I know the 2010 Barrett-Jackson collector car auction is still 6 months away but we have come across news about another
Ford Racing Mustang Challenge car going across the block in January. You might remember last year an FR500S driven by Dorsey Schroeder was auctioned at the debut Barrett-Jackson event in Las Vegas for $79,200. This year the No. 00 FR500S "Media Car" owned by SPX Corporation will be auctioned in Scottsdale with all proceeds going to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
SPX Corporation is a Fortune 500 global company spanning multiple industries including food and beverage, automotive, power generation, transportation, gas and oil, pharmaceutical and many more. SPX also has worked with St. Jude's in the past.
“We work with St. Jude’s as a corporation, and also on a local level, so it was an easy choice for us to do this,” said Dave Kowalski, Segment President, Test and Measurement for SPX. “It is nice to do something more formal for St. Jude’s, and also to be associated with Barrett-Jackson in this way. We have sponsored the event in the past, but this will take our participation to a new level. It is going to be a really exciting way to be involved with the auction, to actually have a car up for sale in it this year, and for a good cause.”
