We've come across this 1999 Saleen Mustang up for auction on ebay Motors. This particular car was used in the making of 2 Fast 2 Furious, and we must say it's pretty much a pile of junk. However, as most of you would know, one man's junk is another man's treasure.
This Saleen might actually turn out to be a treasure as the history behind it is quite interesting. According to the auction description, this Saleen Mustang is #005 for 1999 and it started out life as a research and development car for the tuner. From 1999 until the movie was made around 2002-03, this Mustang was a Saleen Extreme with original yellow paint.
When the car was commissioned for the second installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise, Saleen painted it Lizstick red and yanked out the engine and six-speed transmission. The car is fitted with a roll cage, mounting hardware and various other parts from the filming of the movie. This is definitely a rare Saleen Mustang with some history and would make a great project for any Saleen enthusiast.
