AllCarsElectric.com's Eric Loveday did a really nice head to head review this week of the Mini E and the Mini Cooper S.  We thought the review was worth highlighting here for you.  Here are the major points made:
  • Given the price and construction, its worth comparing the E to the S Model rather than the standard Mini.
  • The E is heaver than the S and has more horsepower (204 vs 172)
  • The E is also more expensive than the S.

Loveday gives the S the overall advantage. That also is worth considering along with a Mini E review at GreenCarReports.com.  There, John Voelcker says of  the E:   "rarely have we been in a car less ready for primetime." Ouch. Read Voelcker's full review as well as the head to head.

Bottomline:  We'll stick with the S for now. While the E is a prototype only, there is not real reason to get too excited about the first version.
