Rumors have been flying around for quite sometime about Ford bringing back the Mach 1 moniker for 2011.  It's been six long years since the last Mach 1 was produced and we already know there will not be a 2010 Mach 1 Mustang but we are still holding out hope a 2011 Mach 1 Mustang is in the works with the much hyped return of the 5.0-liter motor.

The above renderings were done by Edmundo Cano and I must say they are truly life like.  These renderings show his view of what a 2011 Mach 1 Mustang would look like if it was produced on the new refreshed body.  The matte black color of hood, shaker scoop, roof, side stripe, rear wing and rear window louvers give it the classic Mach 1 look.  The 20-inch retro wheels add a modern look to an already potent Mustang.  All around we have to say his rendering will probably be close to what Ford would produce.  Props to Edmundo Cano on some great Photoshop work.

    The more times I see the new Mustang in the media, the more I think it's a shame they didn't make the GT look better because it's the face of the brand. It looks ok, but I think the GT500 and the V6 look much better and cleaner. The V6 and GT500 look like one smooth solid construction, whereas the GT looks like a bunch of pieces thrown together. If I were looking to replace my old V6, I would probably upgrade just to the new V6 and not the GT.

    Not sure if you saw one in person yet but the '10 GT looks a lot better than the '09 GT. I saw both next to each other in person and the '10 make the '09 look boring. At first I did not think it was that great of an update but I sure do now.

    I am Brazilian and I do not write English correctly, sorry for the mistakes in writing ... The car is good, but is missing many things that remind the Mach 1! Since we want to reread (update) of Mach 1 would prefer to be the Mach 1 original 1970, which is the best of all, that yellow was a black grid in place of the rear window, and the engine was the 428 cobrajet, remember? This car is very nice, but not the true aesthetic of Mach 1, the details: tracks stripes on the sides, (this is a black common, striped is a registered trademark of MACH1!) That black piece in the back, too had to have that texture of the grid, equal to MACH1, that there is smooth! The security locks on the hood? Where? And on these black wheels until they are beautiful, but it has nothing to do with the MACH1 or similar they are! The tires of the Mach 1 has the mark recorded in white around them, and this? Nothing ... Yeah! Since the design of the car has changed a lot in the year 1970 until today, and that the tube could remember more than the original car. The only thing reminiscent of the Mach 1 is the scoop on the hood! If I had not written "MACH1" would not give to know, would seem like just one of several existing customization! I love the Mustang, and especially the Mach 1, but if this car there is the end result came to remember the Mach 1, I'll be very disappointed. I expected more loyalty to MACH1!
