The Shelby American Automobile Club (SAAC) and Carroll Shelby have reached an agreement to end the legal battles. The agreement was reached and signed on August 8th putting to rest the lawsuit brought on by Carroll Shelby's company back in November of 2007. It all started when Shelby's licensing branch decided to
cancel the license agreement they had with the 5,000 member SAAC car club. When SAAC refused to dismantle the car club and fork over documents and merchandise Shelby filed a
lawsuit.
Details of the agreement have not come out yet but we do know SAAC will be retaining it's name 'Shelby American Automobile Club' forever and SAAC will stay a separate membership club from Shelby's new club Team Shelby. Both Team Shelby and SAAC will be in attendence for the upcoming
SAAC-33, a celebration of Shelby vehicles at Thunderbolt Raceway in Millville, NJ on August 14th-17th.
