Ford Builds Unique Aviation Inspired AV8R Mustang

Ford has had a long commitment to the Gathering of Eagles youth Aviation initiatives and this year is no exception with the donation of a one-of-a-kind Mustang GT dubbed the AV8R Mustang which will be auctioned off Sunday August 3rd at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture Oshkosh.

The aviation themed AV8R Mustang was developed by the team at Ford Racing using special features including a glass roof, special front and rear fascias, integrated spoiler, and Shelby wheels. Ford Racing parts used include it's handling pack, supercharger and tuned exhaust which will generate 400 horsepower from it's aluminum block 4.6-liter, 24-valve V8 motor.

The Mustang AV8R is painted in Satin Silver matte paint with Black Gloss accents. The interior features distressed "bomber jacket" leather inserts and trim panels along with a "Bullitt" aluminum instrument panel appliqué and shift knob. It also has an appliqué autograph area for the aviation legends and notable enthusiasts scheduled to be in attendance, who include Edsel B. Ford II, Chuck Yeager, Jack Roush, Harrison Ford, John Travolta, Morgan Freeman and Jim Lovell.
