Ebay: Real 'Eleanor' from "Gone In 60 Seconds"

One of the original 1967 GT500 'Eleanor' movie cars from the 2000 hit movie "Gone In 60 Seconds" has made it's way to our favorite auction site Ebay. This Eleanor Mustang in particular is said to be 1 of 11 made and actually 1 of only 3 cars built with a running motor/drivetrain for filming, making it a pretty rare commodity. Of the 11 Eleanor Mustangs that were produced 8 were just shells and 3 were actual running cars and two of those 11 were destroyed in the final scenes of the movie ( 1 crushed, 1 destroyed by jump). To verifying it's an original movie car it comes with a certificate of authenticity. Bidding for this Eleanor has reached $72,100 as of writing this with the reserve not yet met.

  3. $72k is still not bad considering a regular Elenor here in South Africa goes for $160k. Pretty scary
