I do see the 5.0L motor coming back but not for the standard Mustang GT. The 5.0L engine will be reserved for a Mach 1 or Boss Limited Edition type Mustang. Could we see the 5.0L motor down the line in a GT, very possible.
2. Another rumor about the 2010 Mustang has to be the refreshning of the body panels (hood, fenders, front and rear facias, etc..). To keep customers coming back something has to be changed and the simplest is the body panels. Not sure this is that much of a rumor, allthough to what extent will they change the body panels. We know from several
spy photos the front end has signifigantly different lines and the front fascia, headlights and grille have been changed. So it's just a matter of time till we see the real deal.
3. Interior being updated is another rumor which we can probably bank on happening. From
spy photos of the interior you can see how the AC vents look to be rectangular in shape.
4. New headlight assemblies, this is definately a hot topic lately as a new
spy shot came out showing a different look for the headlights.
5. This rumor seems like a long shot but sounds good, adding a twin-turbo Ecoboost V6 engine producing 415 horsepower as a motor option for the Mustang GT. Would get better gas mileage than the V8.
6. In the June 2008 issue of Car and Driver they seem to think
Ford will offer a new 6.2-liter SOHC V-8 producing 400+ hp. I have not seen or heard of this anywhere else.
7. Will there be a 2010 Shelby GT, GT500 and GT500KR? Your answer is No, Yes, Yes. Shelby Autos has said there will be Shelby vehicles continuing through the next refresh. Allthough the only model not making the list is the Shelby GT which has been cancelled for 2009. I have a feeling poor sales on the Shelby GT did it in.
8. This is where my list runs out, if you have any more please post them in the comments.
