Unique has completed and delivered 44 Supersnakes with 427 Fe supercharged engines as of Ostober 1, 2007. 22 of the engines were built by shelby Automobiles from 2004 through 2005 and the other 21 were built by 1 other source from 2005 through 2007.
As for the problems with the overheating and mechanical failures, while it is true that the overheating was the result of several issues that include Fuel, Air and Cooling issues the mechanical failure in the Shelby Autos engines were the result of unrefined valve train hardware and excessive compression ratios as well as poor adherence to build specs, assembly tolerances and build practices.
Brent Fenimore did not begin to work for Unique until October of 2005 at which time he was hired as a Business Development Mgr. The engineering, development and assembly practices had already been performed on 38 of the 43 Supersnakes when he began to work with the Vintage Platform in June of 2006 with his main duties being the identification and implamentation of proper assembly practices and sequence in order to get the cars built on a repeatable basis while improving quality and throughput. He identifed a specific team to address the big block issues as well as the engineering of all products produced and worked with the team on a regular basis to initiate continuous improvement practices as well as the application of standard operational procedures throughout the entire build process.
Brent was with Shelby for the preveous 8 years before he came to UP and by no means ran it into the ground. He followed through with the final engineering, managed and implemented production for the build of 249 Shelby Series 1 vehicles, some 350 plus CSX Cobras, Limited Edition Cobras and the development of multiple performance components and assemblies. He also brought Shelby American out of the ashes when the venture capital partners went BK in 2003 by working with Carroll on the formation of Shelby Automobiles. Brent was the founder of building CSX Cobras in Mexico with HST, escalated the Shelby Brand name to where it is today, worked on multiple license agreements with CSL and worked directly with Ford and SVT to get the contract for the license agreement on the modern GT500 vehicles being produced by Ford today. Brent worked countless hours to help UP and is in the same boat along with the other employees as far as pay and benefits.
It is true that the employees were the strongest asset of UP and that they worked very hard to continuley improve the products they built, it is ashamed they are in the position they are today.
As for Doug Hasty and the principal owners of Unique Performance, I think a lot of mistakes were made over the course of the five years they were in business however I find it very hard to believe he gained anything on a personal level.

And anyone who knows the stories regarding Brent knows that he is the reason that Shelby Auto's almost went out of business. He is a liar and he did unscrupulous acts that caused harm and great expense to the company and Carroll personally.
I find it ironic that Unique which was riding high two years ago is where it is today. Brent has been at Unique for two years and now Unique finds itself in the same or worse position he left Shelby in. And Shelby is in the best shape of their life after 2 years without Brent. Coincidence...... I think not! He is an automotive plague.
Former Employee Posted: 11/15/2007 7:22pm PST
If this so called ex-employee has truly been with UP for some 2 years they would also know that the entire operation including Brent have been facing financial setbacks and hardships since October of 2006 making the hope for success dismal at best.
UP was a very good concept and it very well could be successful today if the right people were put in place from the conception of the company. I think it is sad that the upper management was not able to get the funding in place for the employees to perform their jobs but I am not sure exactly who, or if any one person, is to blame for the demise of the business.
All we can hope is that the customers band together to work out a process that will get their cars complete and that the hard working staff gets the pay and benefits that they are due.

THEY WHERE FLAT OUT ROBBING PEOPLE WITH THE PRICES THEY WERE CHARGING AND THERE QUALITY WAS NOT EVEN THAT GOOD.I CAN NOT FATHOM HOW THEY COULD SCREW UP THE GOLDEN GOOSE THAT THEY HAD.
IT ALL GOES TO SHOW YOU DONT ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR EVEN THOUGH YOU SHOULD,DONT EXPECT JUST BECAUSE A CAR HAS SOME GUYS NAME ON IT THAT IT IS GOING TO BE A GREAT CAR OR SUPER COLLECTIBLE,

AT FAULT- DOUG HASTY AND KERRY KEATING (CFO)
DOUG FOR HIS DECISIONS AND KERRY FOR HIS POOR FINANCIAL PLANNING. COMPANY GREW TOO LARGE AND TOO FAST FOR ITS OWN GOOD.WHEN THINGS STARTED VISION WAS BLURRED BY EASY SALES AND BIG BUCKS ON NEW CONTRACTS. BIG BUCKS BEING A 50% DEPOSIT AT TIME CONTRACT WAS INKED, THEN ANOTHER 25% WHEN CAR WENT TO PAINT, AND FINAL 25% AT DELIVERY. YOU DO THE MATH CONSIDERING AVERAGE SALE PRICE OVER $170,000.00. THE 25% WHEN CAR WENT TO PAINT EXPLAINS WHY THERE WERE SO MANY OF THE 61 CARS THAT F/B POLICE SEIZED WITH BODY WORK DONE AND PAINTED BUT THAT WAS ALL. IT WAS ONE OF THEIR FINAL GRASPS FOR AN INFUSION OF MONEY TOWARDS THE END.
AS FAR AS TITLE WASHING GOES , THAT IS JUST F/B POLICE LEAPING BEFORE THEY LOOKED. IN THE END THEY WON'T LOOK REAL GOOD ON THAT FRONT. VAST MAJORITY OF THE CARS HAVE CLEAN AND CLEAR TITLES.F/B POLICE DID NOT LIKE THE NEW SHELBY VIN PLATES WE USED TO REFERANCE THE RESTO OPTIONS AND SPECS OF THE GT500E AND GT350SR. THOUGH IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A BETTER CHOICE TO LOCATE NEW TAG OTHER THAN ON TOP OF ORIGINAL VIN STAMPING LOCATED ON LEFT FRONT FENDER. THE 2 PLACES VIN TAGS WERE ORIGINALLY LOCATED WERE D/S DOOR FACE AND LEFT FRONT FENDER AND AS F/B POLICE WILL FIND WE NEARLY ALWAYS USED NEW DOORS AND LATEST VERSION OF THE BODY KIT INCLUDED NEW FIBERGLASS FENDERS.
MY TOP 5 REASONS FOR UNIQUE DEMISE ARE(IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER):
TOO MUCH PAYROLL-AT ONE POINT WELL OVER 100 EMPLOYEES (NOT SURE EXACT # BUT GOOD GUES WOULD BE 125 AT ALL LOCATIONS)
THIS # MIGHT HAVE WORKED IF U/P KNEW HOW MUCH IT COST IN PARTS TO BUILD THE CARS, HOW MUCH IN SHOP SUPPLIES TO BUILD THE CARS, HOW MANY HOURS IN LABOR FOR BODY WORK, AND HOW MANY HOURS LABOR TO DO THE MECHANICAL FINAL BUILD. THEY TOTALLY GUESSED AT THESE IMPORTANT THINGS AND ONLY BEGAN TO HAVE A CLUE IN THE FINAL YEAR. BY THEN MONEY ISSUES HAD SLOWED THE FLOW OF INCOMING PARTS TO A TRICKLE. NO PARTS IN NO CARS OUT.
R AND D- GREG BOND SUCKED. ORDER IT,TRY IT,MODIFY IT,WELD IT, CUT IT, THEN THROW IT TO THE SIDE.FEW IF ANY POLICIES OR PROCEDURES IN PLACE FOR IDENTIFYING OR SOLVING ISSUES ON PRODUCTION CARS. REALLY JUST FLEW BY THE SEAT OF HIS PANTS. PRIME EXAMPLE BEING ISSUES WITH B/B SHELBY ENGINES. PISS POOR JOB OF IDENTIFYING ISSUES EARLY ON AND EVEN WORSE JOB WORKING WITH SHELBY HOW TO SOLVE THEM.
TOO MUCH OVERHEAD-5 BUILDINGS AT THE END AND 2 STORAGE FACILITIES.
BAD GAME PLAN-PLANNED POORLY FROM BEGINNING. HINDSIGHT IS 20/20 BUT MIGHT HAVE BEEN GOOD TO SEEK ADVISE/COUNSEL FROM SOMEONE WITH MANUFACTURING BACKGROUND, ESPECIALLY IF IN AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY.WAITED TOO LONG TO SEEK INVESTOR HELP AND OR FINANCIAL GUIDENCE.
LIVING LARGE-I TRUELY BELIEVE THIS WAS THE SMALLEST OF MY 5 ISSUES. GRANTED FEW TOO MANY 1ST CLASS FLIGHTS,HIGH $ HOTEL ROOMS, BIG TIME ADS,TOYS LIKE HUMMER AND NEW FORD TUCKS AND UP 18 WHEELER BUT ALL IN ALL FROM WHAT I OBSERVED NOT TOO FAR OVER THE LINE IF THINGS HAD JUST BEEN PLANNED BETTER FROM BEGINING.
AND IN CONCLUSION THE MAJOR WRONGS DONE WERE:
FAILURE TO PAY FINAL CHECKS TO EMPLOYEES
TAKING OUT OF PAYCHECKS $ FOR 401K AND INSURANCE AND NOT PAYING IT IN
SHAFTING VENDORS AND CUSTOMERS WHO PURCHASED VEHICLES BY EITHER NOT SEEING OR SEEING AND NOT PROPERLY RESPONDIND TO THE FINANCIAL TITAL WAVE THAT HIT UNIQUE PERFORMANCE.
HOPE THIS CLEARED UP A FEW THINGS
P.S. ANY EX EMPLOYEES THAT HAVE NOT FOUND WORK YET SHOULD APPLY FOR UNEMPLOYMENT BENIFITS FROM THE TEXAS WORK FORCE COMMISION AT http://www.twc.state.tx.us/customers/jsemp/jsemp.html
TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE THEY HAVE NOT DISPUTED CLAIMS FORMER EMPLOYEES HAVE MADE. THEY HAVE NOT TAKEN CALLS OR ANSWERED CORROSPONDANCE FROM TWC WHICH RESULTS IN FAVORABLE RULING IN EMPLOYEES FAVOR. DEPENDING ON WAGES EARNED OVER LAST 15 MONTHS (CAN INCLUDE OTHER EMPLOYERS ALSO) TWC CAN PAY UP TO $378 PER WEEK FOR UP TO 26 WEEKS.

First off, yes, that is DEFINITELY Brent Fenimore defending himself, including his trademark "hitting on all cylinders." Shameless!! Unbelievable. I can refute every single claim Brent makes.
Brent, you did not "follow through with the final engineering, managed and implemented production for the build of 249 Shelby Series 1 vehicles and some 350 plus CSX Cobras." You did no engineering whatsoever, in fact, the only part you DID 'engineer' (control arms, which were a rip-off of the Kirkhams), FAILED and had to be scrapped, every one of them!
Speaking of control arm debacle, Brent, you were NOT the founder of Shelby building Cobras in Mexico. What a crock!! You are either delusional or have no soul if you will take credit for something you didn't do. HST did it, conceived of it, and accomplished it, and gets all the credit. You, Brent, only screwed that up by not paying them because you burned through all the money, which the SEC filings demonstrate!
And escalating the Shelby brand to where it is today?!?! You didn't do that, Amy didn't do that, you know who did? FORD.
Get... a... grip. You didn't work on ANY license agreements at all. Ford approached Carroll and Carroll only, and paid Carroll directly, NOT Shelby the company.
Above all, Brent was the reason Shelby and Venture went BK in the first place! After that, he did not drag Shelby out of the ashes. In fact, *investors* did, and what did Brent do? Burned through their money!! Brent bought giant plasma screen TV's for his office, new digital cameras, spent money incredibly frivolously and wastefully, all while ignoring the bottom line: delivering cars. While the company was too broke to spend money on buying parts to complete cars, Brent was marching him and all his cronies to Pebble Beach, Monterey, and Barrett-Jackson, just to stand around trying to be somebody! Not to produce one red cent for the company.
Just one example of how Brent burned through our money at Unique was the Shelby F-150. You don't remember it? No surprise, Brent spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on it like it was nothing, and then his idea of a great product launch was to annouce it to the world by saying it was a dead program and the trucks wouldn't be for sale. Guess who got a Shelby F-150 though? BRENT!!
Motor problems at Shelby? Brent's fault, trying to play motor guy. Motor problems at Unique? ALL BRENT. All he knows about engines he learned from reading car magazines and then hanging around at Shelby.
Brent is a virus that runs through the automotive world, no, the business world. Ya know what happened to the company Brent was manager of before Shelby? IT WENT UNDER!!
I am sorry he was ever selected to work at Unique, although I will say this, Hasty is no saint but Brent pulled the wool over Doug's eyes but good. Every time Doug would start to get hip to a problem, Brent would start weaving his web of lies until Hasty's eyes glazed over, and in no time little Brent would be right back to pulling Big Hasty the puppet's strings.
I am just sickened that Brent would lack the spine, the guts, and the cojones to post his little spiel about himself under his own name.

As an investor in CSBI, Customer of SAI and someone that has worked with Carroll and his companies for many years I can say that it is quite apparent that you know very little of the recent history of Carroll, Shelby American, Venture Industries, Carroll Shelby Licensing, Shelby Automobiles (or whatever you call yourselves this year) and much less of the long term history of Shelby and his games.
I think the point of this thread has been skyjacked from its original posting to divert the attention from Carroll Shelby, his companies & so called licensing agreements with Unique, but it does give us a chance to get a few things out that the general public should know.
Let me start by saying that you are sadly mistaken to think that Brent Fenimore did not make major contributions to the development and subsequent production of the Series 1 vehicles, the Cobra Component Vehicle platform, the reunification of Shelby / Ford, the formation of CSI and multiple licensing deals starting back in 1999. Brent absolutely developed the relationship between HST in Mexico (through Dale Obeshaw) and Shelby Automobiles to help bail Carroll’s butt out after Carroll’s failed attempt to build cars with CAV in South Africa. Several of us know these facts but most of us work for Shelby and can not afford to jeopardize our positions however this has gotten way out of hand and the truth needs to be told.
Fenimore is not able to properly respond to threads in the public domain due to an agreement he made with Carroll Shelby & Co when he resigned in September of 2005, or I am sure a lot more people would be up at arms against Shelby and his trickery. I am sure however he does have some comfort in knowing that the truth will come out in a court of law (Fenimore vs. Shelby, Rafferty vs Shelby, Venture vs Shelby, Halicki vs Shelby, Wilhelm vs Shelby, SAAC vs Shelby, etc., etc., etc.) as well the impending FBI, SEC & IRS investigations concerning Carroll Shelby and his Public / Private companies, Income Tax Evasion dating back to 1999 and his so called “Charity”.
Your numbers are so fictitious it is sickening, who drank the Kool-Aid after stumbling into a pre-written business plan and gold mine? If you actually knew anything about the formation of CSI and the SEC filings you would be aware that SAI started its operations with a -$1,500,000 good will gesture by taking over the contracts on some 100 plus Cobras that had been sold and the monies spent under the Shelby Venture agreement. A negative cash flow of -$2,250,000 after associated moving costs (SAI moved from the large facility to a small facility for the first 9 months of operation as part of their maneuvers to swindle Venture out of their investment only to move back after the deal was done in late 2004) as a startup was no easy undertaking but it was decided to move forward to save the reputation and financial stability of Carroll Shelby. To add to the black hole Shelby, Luft and Cummings wanted to leave all the former suppliers to the debunked Shelby American Company holding an empty bag. That would have been very difficult or impossible due to the fact that they were the same suppliers needed to complete the cars that were contracted which made for an additional -$900,000. A bottom line of -$3,150,000 balance upon the startup (not to mention the $350,000 Carroll had blown at CAV in South Africa and the $500,000 on company airplanes) was never divulged to the investors or properly reported to the SEC. No problem, Carroll Shelby promised the LV team a $10,000,000 investment through his reverse merger and that money would be focused to Automobiles and automotive related acquisitions to make it a workable plan.
Opps, CSI was side tracked on its investment strategy and only raised $4,000,000 before Carroll found out he was being diluted with every dollar invested and screwed up the whole plan by telling the investors he was planning to BK the company in May of 2004. As for the $4 mil, only $2.4 mil was directed towards SAI and the cleanup effort, the other $1.6 mil was spent by Shelby and Luft on filings, incentives, commissions and whatever they could shove under the table or in their pocket.
By causing the stock to drop from $5.35 per share to .19 cents per share (details of which will be uncovered during the investigation) Shelby created the shorting of the stock which is insider trading. Through this highly illegal maneuver they (CSI) have also allowed Carroll to use stock options to get from his 61% ownership in 2005 to his current 90% ownership of the public company for pennies on the dollar through a self serving agreement between himself and Amy Boylan (the only two members of the BOD for CSI, SAI & CSL).
Shelby enjoys Millions of $ to line his pockets and the pockets of his cronies while the investors (I own several thousand shares myself) sit on devalued shares (-2,900%) trying to figure out how their stock dropped over $5 per share overnight and has not gained a penny in years even though CSI has taken in millions in royalties and automobile contracts with Ford (look up the history of CSBI stock on line).
In my opinion Fenimore got out of the Public Company due to the Insider Trading, Self Serving Agreements and Fraudulent Filings of Shelby, Luft, Cummings and Boylan. As the onion peels it will become very apparent that Shelby and his companies have illegally used investor money to get themselves out of bankruptcy and back in control of the Shelby Brand while slandering Venture Industries out of a $30 million investment and public investors out of millions in the formation of CSI.
This is all from an 85 year old man that has stolen the identity of a 100 year old car company (AC Cars), slandered the IRS, EPA, NHTSA, FTC, Ford Motor Company, General Motors (just to name a few) and Multiple Partners as well as the general public for over 40 years. Shelby has taken in millions ($7,000,000) to promote his name / brand through a “Charity” that has contributed less than 5% to the actual cause, sold CSX3000 Cobras as Original 1965’s for $500,000 that were actually built by McKlusky in 1989 – 1993 and taken 100% credit for the hard work of hundreds of Racers, Engineers, Designers and Niche Vehicle Builders around the world.
Wake up and see Carroll Shelby for what he truly is and quit looking through the rose colored glasses, the truth will drop him to his knees and destroy his heritage forever once the facts are made public in court.
Lets get back to the characters that actually were involved in this scam, Carroll Shelby, Amy Boylan, John Luft and last but not least Doug Hasty.
If this person wants to keep divulging untrue statements and facts, a lot more bottom line details and facts are sure to follow, a lot of us are ready to talk and making escape goats won’t change the facts.
Q: How did John Luft acquire 200,000 shares of CSBI for $1 per share when it was trading at $4.75 per share in 2004?
A: Insider Trading? Slime Ball, Bottom Feeder, Self Serving Transaction
Q: Was Carroll Shelby Aware of the transaction?
A: Yes, yet after the fact Luft is still CFO of the public company today and President of Licensing
Q: Did Amy Boylan leave Mattel under good terms by her own choice?
A: No, she was terminated and paid severance to go away quietly
Q: Why was she terminated?
A: “Ask Amy” I am sure she will tell the truth and nothing but the truth sooner or later

First, the fact that any lawsuit is pending against any of the corporate entities or individuals named as defendants in the suit, should not be interpreted to mean that any of the defendants have been found guilty by any court.
Second, some of the defendants we initially identified in this case were chosen because they were named in a written document in which Doug Hasty named them as members of the "management team" of Unique Performance. Others were identified because their names appear on written documents indicating they were directly involved in negotiating the contracts for sale of vehicles to our clients. In both cases, we believe the role these individuals played in the company and the transactions gave rise to their duty to learn of and disclose to the customers how their money was being used.
Third, we are still in the process of investigating the facts, and that process will continue throughout the course of any lawsuit we file, just as it does in any lawsuit. Lawsuits are by their nature a process in which formal allegations are made and answered in court. In cases such as these there are always conflicting stories and points of view. Ultimately a jury and a judge may be asked to sort out those conflicting stories and render a judgment as to who has and who does not have liability to our clients for the fact that their money is apparently gone while the cars for which they deposisted it, were never built.
We close by again asking anyone who has information regarding this matter to share it with us.

As far as being an alcholic, I doubt it but who really knows who is and who isn't anymore. The auto industry and niche vehicle in particular are tough business not to mention working for a company that has been flat broke until recently.
I know he worked for Shelby for a long time so the patsy part probably has a few more facts to it that we will never know, he did a lot for the old fart over the years and I am sure he left for a good reason.

It looks like Amy and her friends don’t want to leave Brent alone, he may be a lot of things but a failure he is not.
If you call someone that finished out a modern car program (S1) that was $5 mill in the drink before you get started or keeping a company alive that has no money while not only defending but also propelling the reputation of an owner that is only worried about his own personal wealth and well being a failure you apparently live in another world than the rest of us.

Within a year and a half, Hasty and Sanderson were successful in getting rid of Wilhelm, without any compensation for his idea and ownership in Sanderson Sales. Wilhelm would later sue Shelby about screwing up his deal (for $50 Million). Unique goes through the first year and only produces one car. Steve Sanderson can't support his company on 12% of one car, so he takes 50% advances from several of his many customers and kites the money. When Unique has its grand opening in October of 2003, they did an open invitation to the world to attend. Anyone who had paid an advance would certainly want to go to this gala event. Steve Sanderson got busted when about 4 people walk up to Hasty and ask to see their particular car. Hasty didn't realize he had a contract with them. About half a million dollars was floated by Sanderson, and he had nothing to say except he agreed to back out of the deal. For the first year and a half, Unique had been using the many 50% deposits Sanderson did pay to wine and dine Shelby and others into thinking that Unique was this great, successful company.
After the gala, Hasty immediately went to Shelby and exposed Sanderson, forever messing up any future relationship that Steve Sanderson might have with Shelby. Now, Doug Hasty had successfully stolen the deal from Wilhelm and Sanderson. Hasty was now free to inflict his dishonesty on anyone he pleased, because Wilhelm and Sanderson weren't around anymore to look after their own interests. Sanderson eventually got pissed about getting kicked out of the deal he had thought he had taken from Wilhelm, so he sued Doug Hasty. Hasty eventually lost in arbitration and had to stroke a $650,000 check to Steve Sanderson. It turns out that all of that money Hasty used to pay Sanderson was from advances on cars.
What Wilhelm and Sanderson did originally was to alter the agreement that Shelby used for the sale of its continuation Cobras. One thing they added was the requirement that Hasty had to provide the customer with a VIN number within a month of receipt of the deposit. They obviously didn't want to see any switcheroos from Hasty. Funny, Hasty couldn't help himself and switched those VINs anyways! He kicked Sanderson out of the deal for being behind on about 10 cars, and now Hasty is accused of being behind on 75 vehicles, possibly more. Funny thing, Steve Sanderson, who Doug Hasty touted as a big scoundrel, is reported to have paid back all of the deposits he borrowed/kited.
It's rare that one sees a cheater punished for his bad deeds in such a short time. Doug Hasty stole the deal from Sanderson Sales, who stole it from Wilhelm. According to this reader, Hasty set the tone for this deal right from the start and now deserves everything the swindled car purchasers can throw at him. Good luck Dougie -- at least you'll still be in the car business making license plates!!!

Oh....just in case you were wondering...he's either already, or working on, destroying the AC name as well. A good tip for those of you investing in the vintage auto market. Who knows where Doug is, but if I had to guess, he's probably screwing someone out of a buck or two.
Glad to see some of you other guys speaking up finally. If we had done that a few years ago, maybe some of these customers would have gotten what they paid for, and these pricks may have gotten what they deserved. But.... it's hard to blow the whistle on something when so many dollars are being spent just to keep you in the dark about it.

We all know that Unique Performance screwed all of us out of our money. Anyone tried to contact that old thief Shelby. I have left numerous messages at Shelby Autos' trying to get answer on who is responsible to build my car or return my funds. That old fart has turned my calls along with Doug. Didn't he put his name to these cars and doens't that make him responsible? I tried to contact the President of Shelby Amy Boylan to no avail. That ugly looking hermorphidite (doesn't she remind you of Pat from Saturday night live) hasn't returned my calls either. They are all crooks in my book.
AHAHAH!! DITTO!! THAT BOYLAN REMINDS ME OF JABBA THE HUT!!!

I'm really surprised and glad. In some places, having that many people lose that much amount of money well....business owners and people involved are liable to get burned alive or shot.
Good job on maintaining control people.
