The clutch assembly replaces the stock pressure plate with a more reliable assembly that has a higher holding capactiy. The new clutch assembly is also a direct bolt in part for perfect fit and function. This new clutch assembly is specifically for high torque street driving and light racing applications according to Centerforce. The Dual Friction part number is DF490309 which includes the pressure plate and Disc. Also available is the Centerforce II clutch assembly for V6 Mustangs with basic bolt-ons, the part number for the pressure plate is CFT363309 and the disc is 280490 which are sold separately.
I'm trying to find out if it is common for clutches in 2006 mustangs to go bad and need replaced? That's what we're looking at. It isn't covered under warranty and we're a little concerned about why this part would go bad so quickly!
Thanks,
Nicole
