Could We See A Pink Mustang in 2008?

Well the folks over at StangsUnleashed.com seem to think so, as they have written an article speculating Ford might be producing a Pink Mustang for 2008 and as far off as it may sound it could become a reality if the brass at Ford give it the go ahead. In the article Robert Lane says members of Team Mustang have been throwing around the idea of a Pink Mustang for some time but nothing has ever come of it, although with the popularity of the s197 body style they feel this might be the time to act.



The color Pink is nothing new to the Mustang because if you know your Mustang history then you will recount that back in 1967 Ford introduced a color called Playboy Pink. These days naming a color Playboy Pink will probably not go over to well so don't expect Playboy to be in any color choices for 2008.

    I've been wanting to get a pink mustang-a vintage one. The thing that scares me about this the "new pink mustang" on this site and others is the pink looks so fake-too bright. It should be more like the dusk rose color of the '67. Ford please don't use this pepto pink!

    ya i am a mustang freek! i really want a mustang that is pink. i cannot wait! i am also excited for the mustang with the doors that do up, so you don't have to open them like a regular car. i really cannot wait!!!!!!

    I would love to see a new pink Mustang. I have a 1967 Dusk Rose Mustang and it would be so cool to have the new one to go with the old one.

    I would love to see a new pink mustang!! is it for breast cancer???? Im 14 and a half and my dad just bought me a mustang for my first car. It is a 1968 Coupe....but the guy told us it is originally Passionate pink, and thats what we are going 2 paint it!     I have a 1967 Playboy Pink edition, matching numbers car. I didnt find this information out until recently. Ive heard its rare but im not sure does anyone know??

    A pink Mustang.. now that's a thought. It will go over big, how about a soft pink pearl color. That is classy and flasy, not to mention a little bit girly. But for a well deserved cause. Somebody needs a pat on the back!!!

    I love the thought of the pink mustang. I just purchased a 66 stang about 6 months ago and my husband and I are turning it into a pink mustang. I am going to clone mine after the 3 that were giving away in a 67 tussy cosmetic ad........slogan on the ad was WEAR A MUSTANG TO MATCH YOUR LIPSTICK......I fell in love with that....but my car also has a double meaning for me now right after I got my mustang I lost my best friend from breast cancer. So I will plate my pink car with my states breast cancer awareness plate for her with a memory to her on my car somewhere. If anyone might have a suggestion on what I could do please send me an email. All suggestions welcome.
    I always wanted a pink stang sice high school. Well it took me 18 years later, but its finally coming around. If anyone would like a picture of the ad I emailed Mustang Monthly and they sent me a copy)just send me an email and I'll get to out to ya as soon as I can.

    I also have a 1967 "Playboy" Mustang.....
    I have tried to find out more information, as there were only 12 of these that were pink from the factory.
    Playboy said there archives were destroyed many years ago, so they haver no records of Vin #'s and Ford says almost the same thing, no records.
    What have you found out???

    I would love to see them use the 65 Tbird color - rose beige! I think you could also special order it for mustangs? That is a classy color! I think I am going to use that color on a 66 coupe that I am restoring.

    I love the color pink and i see i'm not the only one who wants a pink mustang. Get this my idea.....
    A bright pink marble with bright blue marbleor black marble strips. The interior black and hot pink leather kind of like the picture for the 2008 pink/white mustang. For those boys out there, the new mustangs are girl toys.

    What a surprise to see so many pink mustang enthusiasts! I have a 1967 Dusk Rose Mustang that took first place in it's class and "most outstanding engine" in the stock/muscle catagory at the 2006 Seattle Roadster Show. There is the new Breast Cancer Mustang offered in black or white with the Pink GT stripes. It has the ribbon on the side with special pink trimmed leather seats. There is one out on EBAY for a "buy it now" for about $26,000. I have the original "Tussy" ad on my wall with about 10 other "pink car ads" from the 50's and 60's. Would love to know where those 3 cars went! My car is completely stock and I'm the vintage type, although I love pink, I don't know if we need to recreate something so rare from the 60's. I agree the pink car above is too much like the old Dodge colors, and although the Playboy Pink is very rare, it's alittle too bright for my taste. I pondered whether I could drive a "Pink" car, thank god when I went to look at it, it was the Dusk Rose. Funny thing, I wish I had a dollar for every time someone asks me if "it's a Mary Kay" car! They did Cadillacs not Mustangs! and besides, I sell Avon. For those of you looking for info on the Playboy pink car, have you tried Marti Reports in Arizona. We got everything on our car, including the fact it is one of 35 built with the color and options. Love that PINK!!

    19 years old never crashed a car "knock in wood" and i have worked since i was 15 years old to buy myself a car and everyone i get breaks down on me. i am a medical college student and i NEED a reliable new car. i love all fords and pink is the only color on my color wheel

    I remember that Tussy ad about a Mustang to match their Tussy lipstick. I was thinking about that ad when I Googled "pink ford mustang" and found this site.
    Right now I am mourning the loss of my '66 Mustang convertible, which I have had since 1975 when I was 16. It was recently stolen, and I am sooo sad.
    My "Burnsmobile" has been stored for me outside Tucson Arizona since 1988 because I could not afford to replace it's transmission and needed a more reliable car. The thieves also stole my Dads' '68 Corvette Stingray.
    I was planning on restoring my car someday soon and changing it's color from Yellow (was originally green) to red, or my favorite pink color called "Pink Freeze" (a Revlon nail polish color). It's interesting to read how many people would enjoy or have a pink Mustang, and fun that a couple of others remember the Tussy ad!
    My Mustang was stolen once before, less than two weeks after I got it...my Dad found it a couple of miles away. A neighbor called to tell me she saw some kids pushing my car out of the driveway. They must have put it in manual and costed downhill until there was no more hill left to coast, and that's how my Dad found it. I don't have much hope of my Mustang being recovered this time...it's very likely being chopped up *sigh*
    I am mourning my Mustang....
