Bullitt To Return As 2008 Model

The big news on the Mustang front this past Friday from Ford’s new CEO Alan Mulally was that Ford will be adding a new Mustang model each year for the next couple. One that he highlighted was the return of the Bullitt for a 2008 model run. If you remember the bullitt was made in 2001 to pay homage to Steve McQeen's 1968 Mustang 390 GT painted in a forest green like color. The news has been met with disapointment and angst throughout Mustang forums on the net as most thought Ford would bring back the BOSS nameplate with some sort of new engine. Until we find out more we will have to be satisfied with a 2008 Bullitt Mustang.

    I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE NEW BULLITT . AND I'M SURE I'LL PUT MYSELF ON THE WAITING LIST AS SOON AS ONE COMES OUT THAT IS. I MISSED THE CHANCE IN 01 AND STILL REGRET IT TIL THIS DAY. MAKE MINE HIGHLAND GREEN. TO MATCH MY 68 AND I'LL BE A HAPPY "FORD" CAMPER

    Any news on the other upcoming models..?..."Ford will be adding a new Mustang model each year for the next couple" A BOSS would be nice. Larry Shinoda is my hero. :)
    Regretably, I think I may have to retrack my previous post about being able to afford a GT500 once the 'market is flooded' in 2008. Sadly, I don't know if they'll get down to the price where the average guy like me will be able to justify buying one.
    Oh..and sorry about your paint chip...they pi$$ me off too. Gravel trucks really do suck.

    The only thing floating around for a new model is the 2008 Bullitt and I have read an article that motor trend put out saying a Boss was coming but who knows if thats true. I also would not be surprised to see another Shelby possibly a GT350 but your guess is as good as mine. They might even make a S197 Mach 1. We will just have to wait and see.

    Hey, I am just an 18 year old kid, but I am in love with the 2001 Mustang Bullitt. I will only buy one with the dark green paint, no black or blue. So if any of you know of a 2001 MUSTANG BULLIT, send me an email at sloanball@hotmail.com I live in Indiana, so anything in the tri-state area would be great.

    i ordered a new bullitt, no prices. the dealer told me there is a compatability issue it is for job 2. what does that mean. does anyone know. also has anyone gotten prices. im flying in the blind with it, what i ordered was loaded highland green. thanks ron
