Why rent-a-racer when you can buy a 2006 Shelby GT-H. To mark the 40th anniversary of the Shelby GT350H
Ford Mustang, Ford Motor Company, Shelby Automobiles, and The Hertz Corporation are creating 500 Shelby GT-H Mustangs with various performance modifications. Those cars will be available to rent very soon except for one that will be auctioned off July 27, during the annual “Gathering of Eagles” fundraiser at EAA AirVenture 2006, which runs July 24-30 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, WI.
The auction proceeds go to support the EAA's Young
Eagles program which is the most successful youth aviation education program ever created, with more than 1.2 million young people flown to date.
“As part of its support of EAA and its programs,
Ford Motor Company, in conjunction with Hertz and Shelby Automobiles, is providing a dazzling addition to this year’s Gathering of Eagles auction,” said Tom Poberezny, EAA president and AirVenture chairman. “Aviation enthusiasts enjoy performance both in the air and on the ground, and this Shelby GT-H Mustang certainly will draw much deserved attention for its style and power.”
More information regarding tickets for the Gathering of Eagles is available through the EAA Development Office at 800-236-1025 or by e-mailing development@eaa.org. In addition, there are a limited number of opportunities for bidding on the Shelby GT-H Mustang by those who cannot attend the Gathering of Eagles event in person on July 27.
