An inside source has confirmed the car’s existence to AutoWeek, revealing it will be a 2+2 GT with a front engine layout. The source also claims the new car’s engine will debut Ferrari’s direct-injection technology as well as a metal folding hardtop built by Pininfarina.
The car’s new engine, codenamed F136Y, will have a capacity of about 4.3L but will share only its engine block with the current 4.3L mill in the F430. New elements include unique injection rails, intakes, cylinder heads and valvetrains as well as a new type of throttle body.
Ferrari’s production lines are already near capacity so to accommodate the new model an additional line will be set-up at the Maranello plant, however much of the car is expected to be built at Pininfarina's assembly plant too.

Entry level?
Entry level is a Corvette fighter, not a $200k car.

Hope they get the styling right this time. Being a while since a truly desirable looking Ferrari has being released. Personally, 456M GT is the last truly beautiful Ferrari for me.

did anyone READ the friggen article? gus is right; its a 2+2 GT with a 4.3L V8..... sounds like every other "small" ferrari.
"entry level" for ferrari would be 130k for a strict 2 seater with a turbo6, turbo5, or a very small V8 (think 3L V8, or hell, even a dumbed down version of the F1's 2.4L v8). rear wheel drive and strictly 6 speed manual.
i wont call ANY ferrari "entry level" until they make something the size of the pontiac solstice, for 130k. Audi's doing an R4 soon, and bmw has had good success with the 4 series. there IS a market for this kind of car. will ferrari do it? not likely. why? who knows.
BRING BACK THE DINO.

Solstice? MX-5? SLK-Class? S2000? Boxster? Corvette? This is a Ferrari, it's supposed to be expensive.
