Mitsubishi reveals production Lancer Sportback

Mitsubishi will use October’s Paris Motor Show to display the final production version of its all new Lancer Sportback wagon before the car goes on sale in Europe in the following weeks. The carmaker will also be displaying the Lancer Ralliart (first displayed at January’s Detroit Auto Show) and Lancer Sportback Ralliart models, which are also set for a sales launch at the end of the year. The performance duo are powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and mated to Mitsubishi's Twin Clutch SST gearbox and power all four wheels through an active center differential.

The Lancer Sportback five-door hatch, meanwhile, will be available in versions powered by 109hp 1.5L or 143hp 1.8L petrol engines or by a 140hp 2.0L turbodiesel engine. North American versions will likely feature 2.0L and 2.4L petrol engines.

The Lancer Sportback offers an ‘auto-folding function’ which increases luggage compartment via an adjustable rear floor and folding seats. It's 4,585mm long (the sedan is 4,570mm) and offers 288 to 344 liters of space with rear seats up and expands to 1,394L when the seats folded.
