The move is part of GM’s ongoing business and strategic review of Hummer, and some of Taylor’s key duties will be to help the transition of the business to its new owner and settle ongoing dealer relations. Hummer dealers across the U.S. are currently negotiating to sell their stores while GM attempts to avoid lawsuits or similar actions from some owner-dealers that have invested millions of dollars in their businesses.
GM is also reportedly in talks with a number of different firms, including parties from India, China and Russia, over the sale of the brand. However, GM is yet to reveal any of the names of the companies it's talking to.
Mark McNabb will stay on as vice president in charge of Cadillac and GM’s premium sales channel. At the same time, the three general manager positions at Cadillac, Hummer and Saab have been eliminated as part of GM’s ongoing restructuring.

Not to play war of the words here (but I will) I'm confused. To me "confirmed a sale" would mean you have a buyer with readies in hand and that buyer has a name and "confirmed for sale" would mean no readies in hand and that the buyer maybe Chinese, Indian or Russian.
No wonder the dealers are upset, even the press are being vague! Which is it?

MWOW, The way I understand it is; GM 'wants' to sell Hummer, but for no they still don't have a solid buyer in place - otherwise they would a) announce the buyer, and b) not bother with assigning a new CEO if they already were sure that Hummer was going away and wouldn't be their problem anymore.
