The 2016 Busan Auto Show was on this week in Korea and one of the stars was this awesome RM16 N concept from Hyundai. It’s clearly based on the Veloster but one totally modified to fit a mid-mounted engine and a sleek new front end. Sadly, the RM16 N isn’t destined for production. It’s a development car the Hyundai N performance division will use for testing.

The big news this week was the unveiling of the second-generation Audi A5. We were also treated with the sporty S5 variant. Both are due on sale early next year as 2018 models. While the look may be familiar, everything under the skin is new.

Another car unveiled in Busan was the 2018 Genesis G80. The car is actually an update of the existing Hyundai Genesis and although the styling hasn’t changed much there is now a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine on offer. There is also a cool performance-oriented version dubbed the G80 Sport.

BMW this week unveiled an updated version of its 3-Series Gran Turismo. The exterior may not have changed much but there are some new, more powerful engines on offer.

Mercedes-Benz’s off-roading icon, the G-Class, is receiving some minor updates for the 2017 model year. Sadly, the United States is likely to miss out on a “purist” version dubbed the G-Class Professional. It skips many of the luxuries like chrome detailing and carpeting, which makes sense since it’s all about going off-road or being used on work sites.

An upcoming car spied this week was BMW’s next-generation M5. The prototype was wearing the least amount of camouflage gear we’ve seen yet, revealing many of the details of the new super sedan. We hear the car’s engine, which will once again be a twin-turbocharged V-8, will be tuned to deliver in excess of 600 horsepower.

Subaru this week unveiled a new STI model. It’s based on the Levorg wagon sold overseas and right now has only been announced for the Japanese market where it goes on sale this summer.
