Lamborghini’s current flagship is the Centenario LP 770-4, a 759-horsepower raging bull that’s destined to be built in a run of just 40 cars.

Lamborghini has released its first video showing the supercar on the move, in this case at Italy’s Nardo test track.

The Centenario was built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of company founder Ferrucio Lamborghini. It also served as a farewell for former CEO Stephan Winkelmann who presented it at the 2016 Geneva auto show just before being reassigned to Audi Sport.

It’s based on the Aventador but as we discovered from Lamborghini R&D chief Maurizio Reggiani there are changes throughout. If the Aventador LP 750-4 SuperVeloce is a lightweight version of the Aventador, the Centenario goes even further by adding more power while increasing the weight savings. The car also benefits from a rear-wheel-steering system.

Performance is brisk with a 0-62 mph run of just 2.8 seconds and a top speed in excess of 217 mph. Lamborghini claims 186 mph will arrive in just 23.5 seconds, though compared to the performance on offer from a hypercar that doesn't seem all that fast.
