General Motors Company [NYSE:GM] has really hit the ball out of the park with its sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro. Not only is the car Motor Authority’s Best Car To Buy 2016, it’s also putting down some serious power straight out of the box.

And if you’re the type that likes to modify cars, you can look forward to some seriously big numbers. As proof of this, Oklahoma City’s B&R Performance recently got a 2016 Camaro SS into the 10-second bracket at the drag strip with only an ECU tune, some drag radials and a shot of nitrous.

Now the firm is already in the 9-second bracket but it’s not clear what mods are being used at present. We do know, however, that the car was powerful enough to damage the rear axle. Before that happened, the car ran the quarter mile in 9.83 seconds at 138 mph. A slightly slower run of 9.91 seconds at 138 mph is shown in this video from LSTuner.

You’re going to want to turn the volume up loud for this one. Trust us.
