The 2017 Acura NSX has just gone on sale and naturally Jay Leno is one of the first people outside of Acura to drive it.

On the latest episode of his web series Jay Leno’s Garage, the comedian and television host learns the ins and outs of the 573-horsepower hybrid supercar from its designer Michelle Christensen and lead engineer Ted Klaus.

Leno then hops in the driver’s seat before heading out for a quick spin.

He comes away quite impressed with the car, which is to be expected given all the technology it is packing. For example, it features a hybrid-based all-wheel-drive system similar to the one in the Porsche 918 Spyder but in a package that starts from just $157,800, including an $1,800 destination charge.

Production of customer examples of the new NSX commences in the spring and deliveries are due to start shortly after. We’ve had a brief drive in a pre-production unit and can’t wait to spend some additional time behind the wheel.
