When Tesla announced the all-electric, all-wheel-drive Model S P85D, everyone was impressed. Then we learned it had what's called "insane" mode and, well, frankly we all kind of giggled like little kids. Really, insane mode?
Yes, really. What else would you call a mode that's literally insane? Ludicrous maybe? Sure, but insane is just that over the top that it works. You know what, it actually describes the mode perfectly.

What about kids? How do kids react to the P85D's "insane" mode launch? Thanks to Tesla and Dream Drives for Kids, we now know the answer: While experiencing the "insane" mode launch kids will either scream, laugh, or sometimes just close their eyes as their heads get slammed into the headrest.
We've covered Dream Drives for Kids in the past, but as quick refresher: Created by Eric and Amity Peterson, Dream Drives for Kids is a non-profit organization that has partnered with Portland, Oregon hospitals to make sick kid's automotive dreams cone true. The Petersons give local children with life-threatening diseases a dream drive in one of their supercars, which of course will provide a memory that lasts their lifetime.

The Model S P85D is Tesla's performance model with dual-electric motors giving it all-wheel drive. As with any electric car, 100 percent of the torque is available instantaneously, which gives it immense power off the line when launching.
Naturally after it was all said and done many of the kids were begging their parents to buy a Tesla. After an experience like that, who could blame them?
