The Acura MDX is a competent, mid-size luxury SUV with plenty of technology, impressive levels of refinement and a reasonable price tag. What generations of the MDX have tended to lack is dynamic styling to let them stand out from the crowd. That should change with the arrival of the 2017 model, which Acura has confirmed will take place during next month’s 2016 New York Auto Show.
A teaser for the 2017 Acura MDX has been released, and from what we can see the vehicle will sport an aggressive look inspired by Acura’s Precision concept car. We can see a sculpted hood, a more aggressive front bumper and an imposing grille dominated by a large Acura logo.

This isn’t a complete redesign but rather an update of the existing MDX which was all-new for the 2014 model year.

Acura says we can expect more luxury and convenience features in addition to the new styling. There will also be some new powertrain technology. The vehicle was last updated a year ago when it received a nine-speed automatic, a new all-wheel-drive system and some available electronic driver aids.
“We are sharpening our focus on the Precision Crafted Performance DNA of the Acura brand and the 2017 MDX will integrate new styling elements and powertrain technology that takes us another step in that direction,” John Mendel, executive vice president at American Honda Motor, said in a statement.
