Cadillac’s current CTS sedan was all-new last year but that hasn’t stopped designers from adding a few updates for the 2015 model year. The biggest of these updates is the revised grille, which now sports Cadillac’s famous crest logo without the classic laurel wreaths. The updated logo also features on the 2015 ATS and will likely be appearing on the rest of Cadillac’s lineup within the next year or two.

Buyers of the 2015 CTS also have new colors to choose from (Crystal White and Dark Adriatic Blue) as well as some additional trim options for the interior. In addition to those updates, there is a host of new technology features helping to improve the convenience and safety of the CTS sedan range.

In the area of convenience, the 2015 CTS benefits from a wireless phone charging dock, text message alerts integrated with the Cadillac CUE interface, and OnStar with high-speed 4G LTE connectivity. The latter turns the car into a Wi-Fi hotspot.

New driver aids also feature on the 2015 CTS. These include an expanded Driver Awareness package, which now features lane keep assist and lane change alert systems, as well as an expanded automatic parking assist system that can now handle perpendicular parking spots. A Driver Assist package is still available and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic seat belt tightening and automatic braking.

No changes have been made to the powertrain lineup, which means the 2015 CTS continues with three options for buyers, all with eight-speed automatic transmissions. The base model sports a turbocharged 2.0-liter four good for 272 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. This is followed by a 3.6-liter V-6 good for 321 hp and 275 lb-ft. The range-topper is the CTS Vsport which gets a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V-6 with 420 hp and 430 lb-ft on tap.

Brembo front brakes are fitted as standard on the CTS and buyers can choose additional performance upgrades such as Magnetic Ride Control, all-wheel-drive and wheel sizes ranging up to 19 inches. The standard wheels measure 17 inches across. Those seeking a more powerful engine should wait for the new CTS-V, which is expected to be available for 2016 and boast upwards of 600 horses.

Note, a CTS Coupe based on the previous-generation CTS is still available and comes in CTS-V special edition flavor. Unfortunately, the CTS Coupe will bow out of the market after the 2015 model year but Cadillac will still offer a smaller ATS Coupe and ELR extended-range electric car for coupe fans.
