If you daily-drive a BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe, chances are you aren't rocking the latest thrift-store audio system at home. And if, say, you have Bang & Olufsen's latest setup in your lounge, there probably isn't a Nissan Versa sitting on the driveway outside.

What we're saying is that BMW's latest tie-in with the high-end audio brand is a fairly logical move. The BMW Individual 6-Series Bang & Olufsen Edition should combine the sort of luxury and engineering values that customers of either individual brand are used to. Indeed, BMW says the car "combines the most exquisite materials and craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology and the finest high-end sound". So there you go.

It's not just a 6-Series with a few fancy speakers screwed to the doors, of course. Just 100 examples will be made, each based on the 650i Gran Coupe, with either rear-wheel drive or winter-friendly xDrive all-wheel drive. Another ten BMW M6 Gran Coupes will also be available in B&O spec, its standard 560 horses raised to 575 hp with a tick of the Competition Package box. Whether a louder, faster car is the ideal environment to enjoy the new sound setup is open to debate.

Each Bang & Olufsen Edition does feature a 1,200 watt output though, so even the M6's exhaust system has some work to do to drown it out. All sixteen speakers are covered with brushed black aluminum grilles, while B&O detailing can be found in the piano black wood interior inlays and on the floormats. On the M6 Gran Coupe Bang & Olufsen, each headrest features a small BMW M logo embroidered into its surface. Just two exterior finishes are available--Brilliant White Metallic, and Dark Graphite II Metallic.

If all that isn't enough, there's one final touch unique to the special-edition BMW: a set of black BeoPlay H6 high-end headphones. These are finished in the same aluminum trim as the car's speaker grilles, and will probably end up on eBay at some point for a vastly inflated price. The car itself is available now.
