The Scion FR-S is half of our favorite set of affordable new sports car twins, and for the 2015 model year, it’s getting just a bit better.

Already a compact bundle of fun, the 2015 FR-S gains a more rigid front suspension and re-tuned rear dampers for less body roll and more chassis-driver communication.

On the appearance front, the 2015 Scion FR-S gets a shark-fin antenna to replace the previous pole antenna and larger exhaust tips that fit more flush against the rear bumper. Inside the cabin, the new FR-S will get a new carbon fiber-look interior panel and automatic on-off headlights. A new Steel exterior color replaces the previous Argento, while the pearl white Halo ($395) replaces the previous Whiteout.

Best of all, despite the equipment and handling upgrades, the 2015 Scion FR-S starts out $355 cheaper than the 2014 model, with the base six-speed manual version starting at $24,900, and the six-speed auto starting from $26,000.
