Lexus RC buyers looking for a unique performance offering but aren’t quite prepared to go with the fully-fledged RC F model now have a new option in the form of the RC 350 F Sport, which debuted this week at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The car sits between the regular RC 350 and high-performance RC F in Lexus’ new RC coupe hierarchy, and although it doesn’t receive any power upgrades the RC 350 F Sport still offers enhanced driving performance.

This is achieved via the adoption of adaptive suspension damping and an available handling package dubbed Lexus Dynamic Handling. This system adjusts on the fly various systems such as the suspension, steering, stability and wheel angle, based on current vehicle speed, steering direction and driver inputs. The result is improved turn-in response, grip, vehicle control and overall agility when cornering.

Also part of the F Sport upgrade is a slightly more aggressive spindle grille, custom 19-inch wheels and F badges. The interior is also dressed up with an F Sport-specific leather steering wheel and shift knob, plus special Rioja Red leather trim on the seats with contrast stitching. The final touch is a moving ring in the digital instrument cluster, similar to the design used in the Lexus LFA supercar.

As mentioned, there are no power upgrades for the RC 350 F Sport so sitting under the hood is the regular RC 350’s 3.5-liter V-6 engine, good for 306 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. Drive is sent to the rear wheels only, via an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

The new RC 350 F Sport joins the rest of the 2015 Lexus RC range in showrooms this fall. Note, alongside the car in Geneva this week sat a new RC F GT3 race car concept. The new concept signals Lexus' intention to develop a GT3-spec race car based on its RC F and supply it to private teams competing in the 2015 motorsport season.
