Volvo’s first Polestar-enhanced models have finally landed, and they look particularly tasty in their signature Rebel Blue paint schemes. But with any good performance car, it’s what’s inside that counts most, and in this department the new S60 and V60 Polestar models certainly don’t disappoint.

We’re looking at a performance sedan and wagon with a 345-horsepower turbocharged straight-six engine spinning all four wheels via a Haldex all-wheel-drive system. The cars also get Öhlins shock absorbers, Brembo brakes, 20-inch wheels and a fully functional body kit.

Polestar has taken its time with the development of its first vehicles for public sale, using its extensive motorsport experience, including racing a version of the S60, to come up with ideal solutions for lifting performance of the stock S60 and V60 models. Hopefully this will translate into to superb on-road performance, but we won’t know for sure until we hop behind the wheel.

The first S60 and V60 Polestar models should reach dealers this June. Only 120 examples are pegged for the U.S. market, which means availability will be tight. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.
