Hyundai’s Genesis Coupe underwent a major update for the 2013 model year, so there isn’t much to report on when it comes to changes for 2014. Nevertheless, there are some updates including enhancements to the drivetrains, some new features and more connectivity options.

In the drivetrain department, Hyundai has made a downshift rev-matching system standard for models equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Manual models, meanwhile, get new carbon-coated synchronizer rings for their transmissions as well as standard hill-start assist. Finally, a new induction pipe has been added to models equipped with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, giving a better engine note.

No changes have been made to the actual engines. This means the 2.0-liter turbo four still delivers 274 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.8-liter V-6 still musters up 348 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The V-6 is obviously the quicker option, helping the Genesis Coupe accelerate to 60 mph in just over 5.0 seconds and easily seeing it reach a governed top speed of 149 mph.

Across the range, the 2014 Genesis Coupe gets some new exterior color options as well as standard fog lights, cruise control, heated mirrors, and floor mats. Opt for a sporty R-Spec model and you now get seats with improved bolsters.

Also for 2014, Genesis Coupe Ultimate, Grand Touring and Premium models get some new features for the Hyundai Blue Link interface. These include safety-minded features such as automatic collision notification and vehicle diagnosis and health report as well as an all-new mobile application (compatible with Android, iOS and BlackBerry) that allows you to remotely access your car using your mobile device should you want to, for example, warm up the engine from the comfort of your living room or locate your car in a crowded car park.

Pricing for the 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe starts at $27,245, including $895 in shipping.
