It may look a little crude, but this computer-generated rendering is the first official image of a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray race car. The new racing version of the seventh-generation ‘Vette is being developed by the racing arm of Corvette tuner Callaway and should be ready to hit the track sometime next year.

Unfortunately, we’re unlikely to see it in actual competition until the 2015 motorsport season but before then it’s possible Chevrolet will have its own C7 R race car ready. Speaking of the C7 R, it’s also possible that Callaway’s new Corvette Stingray race car and the C7 R will share some lines. After all, lines for both will be dictated by the wind tunnel.

Callaway’s Corvette Stingray race car is being developed under GT3 regulations. In fact, the company is the representative for building and holding the homologation of the Corvette Stingray in GT3 competition, a role it also plays for the C6 Corvette.

Considering what the 2014 Corvette Stingray is capable of on the road, we can’t wait to see what this latest generation of the American sports car icon will do on the track.

No, this isn’t a prototype for a hardcore McLaren MP4-12C but rather a test mule for McLaren’s ‘entry-level’ model due in 2015. Code-named the P13, the new model will share the 12C’s carbon fiber monocoque and V-8 engine (most likely detuned) and will target the likes of the Audi R8 and Porsche 911.

2013 Aston Martin DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial

The pair of Aston Martin Zagato Centennial specials made their public debut last week, and we must say the cars look much better in the metal than they did when we first saw some renderings. Classic yet still very modern, we’re sure the cars will be turning heads wherever they go.
