Better brush up on your French because one of the most exciting entries for the 2014 World Touring Car Championship is France’s Citroën, which is fielding two cars driven by two world champion French natives. We’ve already told you that the unstoppable Sébastien Loeb, a winner of nine World Rally Championships and the man who just obliterated the Pikes Peak record, will drive for Citroën in WTCC starting from next year. Now we can confirm that his teammate will be fellow Frenchman Yvan Muller.

Muller is a winner of three WTCC titles, two of those earned with Chevrolet, and like Loeb he’s quite a versatile driver. He’s done everything from Formula racing to Australian V8 Supercars but his greatest success has been in the world of WTCC.

As the video above shows, both Loeb and Muller have driven Citroën’s new WTCC race car based on the C-Elysée compact sedan. Like all WTCC cars competing next year, it’s powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine, the same one, in fact, found in Citroën’s DS3 WRC car.

So what do they think of it? "Compared to what I've experienced in recent seasons, the car is lighter, more powerful and more efficient in terms of aerodynamics,” Muller said in a statement. “My first impressions are that the Citroën C-Elysée WTCC is a good base to work from and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the development sessions.”

For Loeb, switching from WRC to WTCC appears to be a welcome change. When talking about his new ride, he said “It’s still a touring car, with life made a little bit easier for the driver.
