The car you see above is, wait scratch that--the wildly viscious, wonderfully intriguing, super star racing vehicle shown above is a Lancia 037. This was one of the infamous WRC Group B monsters that changed the sport of rallying, and was the last rear-wheel-drive car to win before the all-wheel-drive machines took over.

It's also a highly visible and memorable racecar thanks to the livery it wears. Clad in its Martini Racing colors, the Lancia is part of a special pack fo vehicles that have been driven to victory in a variety of motorsports.

It's all unfolded over the last 45 years, and now it's time to look back and celebrate that history. The Italian alcoholic beverage firm Martini has been producing adult potions for 150 years. It got into racing 45 years ago, and the motorsports landscape was forever marked with those iconic colors and letters.

Now the Martini Racing history is set to be heralded at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed. At least fourteen Martini-clad racing machines are slated to be present, and the list of those in attendance is certainly jaw dropping for racing fans.

Stand by for amazing:

  • Lancia LC1
  • Lancia LC2
  • Lancia Delta Integrale
  • Lancia Delta S4
  • Porsche 917K
  • Jaguar XJ220
  • Ford Focus WRC

That right there is the automotive equivalent of Murder's Row. A serious slate of saliva worthy motoring icons. If you're lucky enough to attend Goodwood this year, you will need to make sure to check out each and every machine bearing the Martini livery. History sits parked before you, and the future of the racing brand will be there as well.
