It may not look like much at the moment, but pictured here is a prototype for one of the most anticipated cars of the new year, the 2015 Ford Mustang.

The prototype confirms that the 2015 Mustang, the sixth generation of the iconic muscle car, will be as big and brawny as the outgoing model, though with some key revisions.

While we have no way of determining what the final styling will be like, other than what has been reported already, the prototype featured in this shot provides some clues.

Both its roof and shoulder line sit lower than those of the outgoing model.

Before we move onto our next top photo of the week, it’s worth mentioning that a range-topping 2015 Mustang developed by Ford’s SVT division is planned. Designed to succeed the current Shelby GT500, the new car is rumoured to be dropping the Shelby name as well as the current car’s supercharger.

We should know more as we approach the 2015 Ford Mustang's debut around the end of the year.

The 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C is almost here, with production currently underway at a Maserati plant in Italy and the first models soon to set sail for the U.S. Our only issue with the car are its bug-like headlights, which were allegedly implemented as a low-cost solution to meeting various regulations of the markets where the car will be sold.

Allan McNish and the Audi team prepare for the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans

Scottish racing driver Alan McNish is one of the most capable behind the wheel. Put him behind the wheel of an Audi LMP1 prototype, however, and he’s close to being unstoppable. We spoke to him recently and found his insights into the world of Le Mans very interesting.

2014 Audi R8

2014 Audi R8

It may not be as fast as an LMP1, but Audi’s R8 is still a joy to drive, as we found out again recently. If we had the choice, we’d take the V-10 equipped with the S tronic dual-clutch transmission every time.

Mosler MT900 and Rossion Q1

Remember the Mosler MT900? The locally-bred supercar is not completely dead, though going forward any new examples will be badged as a Rossion. That’s because Mosler and Rossion have merged. What’s to emerge from the deal is yet to be revealed, though we know it will be stupidly fast.
