The Jaguar E-Type is one of the most gorgeous automobiles ever to grace the face of this planet. When the production version rolled out in 1961, Enzo Ferrari referred to it as "the most beautiful car ever made". It's a symbol of the glory days of British motoring, and every example deserves love, attention, and care.

Unfortunately, not every example is treated in a proper manner. A recent 1968 XK-E was found stateside in Maryland, complete with neglect and abuse. That car was listed on eBay, where bidding ended at $15,100. That's for a truly trashed example, mind you.

Now another E-Type has surfaced, and this one is even more special. After lying undisturbed in a garage for 30 years, a 1961 Jaguar E-Type Roadster is heading to a new home. This particular E-Type is completely original with just 65,000 miles on the odometer. It was just the 60th E-Type to travel down the assembly line and out of the doors at the Conventry, England manufacturing facility.

Bonhams presided over the sale of the vehicle, and pre-auction estimates pegged the value at around £20,000-£30,000. Once the auctioneer's gavel fell, however, the Jaguar wound up selling for £110,000

The new owner is Classic Motor Cars of Bridgnorth. Also known as CMC, this facility is known around the world for the quality work it produces relating to Jaguar restoration. When a classic Jag needs love, it's CMC that can give it the best quality attention. Now the 1961 Jaguar E-Type Roadster purchased at auction will get the same level of attention, and we're eager to see what this lovely machine looks like when it gets its new lease of life.
