By comparison, it took Lamborghini four and a half years to reach the same milestone for the previous Murcielago.
The Aventador, with chassis #2,000 is finished in Nero Nemesis black and was bought by Thaddeus Arroyo. The AT&T executive is already the owner of a Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder and fell in love with the Aventador after taking one for a test drive at a recent Lamborghini event in Palm Beach, Florida.
It is an original LP 700-4 model, which means its 6.5-liter V-12 engine delivers 691 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque, and is capable of sending the car from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds and onto a top speed of 217 mph.
The Aventador range has since been expanded with an Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster model as well as the slightly more powerful Aventador LP 720-4 50° Anniversario special edition. And soon, an even more potent model, possibly badged an SV, will be joining the range, guaranteeing the car’s performance edge will be maintained for the foreseeable future.
All Lamborghini models are manufactured at the automaker’s plant in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy. Five Aventadors are painstakingly built during an ordinary working day, with most of these ending up in the U.S.
