Kia has released the first images of a sporty new concept car the automaker is planning to debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.

The vehicle is described as a “racy new urban concept” and features the latest evolution of Kia’s tiger-nose front-end design.

It's also clearly a coupe, although there are also some crossover elements to the design.

Strong character lines and muscular proportions hint at the performance of the vehicle, though Kia hasn't released any actual specs just yet.

If produced, the vehicle could serve as a rival to other sporty compact crossovers like the Nissan Juke and new MINI Paceman, the latter of which is also a coupe.

Hopefully some of the design will also appear on the next-generation Kia Soul and perhaps even a production version of the Kia’s Track'ster concept from last year.

We should know more once Kia’s latest concept makes its debut in Geneva on March 5. In the meantime, visit our dedicated show hub for information on the rest of the new model and concept reveals planned for the upcoming Swiss event.
