If you're keen on compact luxury hatchbacks, you've been following our spy shots and news updates on the 2013 Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG. Today, Mercedes-Benz has released the first official teasers for the car and given it a rough release date: next spring.

Next spring is, of course, when the Geneva and New York auto shows happen. Which will host the debut isn't yet clear, but we'd put our money on Geneva, as it's not clear that the A 45 AMG will be headed to the U.S., and frankly, it looks unlikely that it will.

Nonetheless, the possibility of more than 330 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, the new A Class's stunning shape, AMG's exterior upgrades, and what we can only hope will be brilliant handling and performance, the green-eyed monster of jealousy will be well-fed.
