Anyone looking for a Panamera with just that extra touch of luxury will be interested in knowing that Porsche is launching a pair of new special editions based on its Panamera and all-wheel drive Panamera 4. Set to go on sale in January, 2013, the new special editions add a host of extras typically found on the more premium Turbo model at no additional cost.

The special editions are called the Platinum Edition, due to the platinum look found around the body and on some of the interior.

The grille, the lower portion of the side mirrors, the trim on the trunk lid and the rear diffuser are the same as the units on the Panamera Turbo and feature a platinum silver look. This is contrasted with high gloss black on the side window strips.

Customers will be able to choose from five different exterior colors for the Panamera Platinum Edition, the standard solid colors black and white or optional black metallic, carbon grey metallic and mahogany metallic. The latter is featured here. Other goodies made standard on the Panamera Platinum Edition are bi-xenon headlights, park assist and 19-inch wheels borrowed from the Panamera Turbo.

Inside, the Panamera Platinum Edition comes with a two-tone finish comprised of black and luxor beige. Exclusively for this special edition, a partial-leather interior package comes as standard, with a full leather package available. Other highlights include a standard sport design steering wheel, Porsche logos on the headrests and custom door sills.

Pricing on the 2013 Porsche Panamera Platinum Edition starts at $81,475 for the standard model and $85,575 for the all-wheel drive Panamera 4 (both prices include a $975 destination charge).
