After a brief hiatus, the BMW M5 Ring Taxi is back and once again tearing up the Nurburgring-Nordschleife now that the warmer months are upon us.

While ‘Ring Queen’ Sabine Schmitz is no longer driving the cars, the instructors from the BMW Driving Experience program filling in her shoes appear to be just as capable as witnessed in this exclusive video.

Two Ring Taxis are featured here, both in the traditional white, and covered in M branding.

The new M5 Ring Taxi is due to enter service later this year. Current testing is believed to be targeted at establishing the proper setup and safety configuration for the F10 model, as it will face hard duty over the coming years, ferrying people around the Nurburgring at ludicrous speed.

Based on the regular 2013 BMW M5 that’s just gone on sale, the M5 Ring Taxis are powered by BMW M’s latest TwinPower V-8 engine rated at 560 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque. With the M-DCT dual-clutch transmission, 0-60 mph acceleration takes around 4.4 seconds and top speed comes in at 190 mph.
