First wrecked 911-series Porsche 911

The gruesome wreckage pictured above is of a recently bought 2012 Porsche 911 that crashed in Hilversum, in the Netherlands late last week.

With no other reports of a previous crash involving the latest-generation 991 model, this could very well be the first example to have suffered a crash.

According to the guys at Autoblog.nl, the driver of the Porsche collided with an oncoming Volvo V50 in the narrow street before veering off the road and ending up on the sidewalk.

The video below shows a tow truck crew removing the wreckage and also reveals that the damage to the car is quite severe. However, with damage to rear (where the engine is located) only appearing minimal, hopefully this 911 can be repaired and driven another day.

Having made its debut last September at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, the new 2012 Porsche 911 has only been on sale for a couple of months. The one involved in the crash is said to be only a month old.

Fortunately, both the driver of the Porsche 911 and the driver of the Volvo V50 he hit weren’t seriously injured from the accident.
