In addition to the new M Performance vehicles being unveiled next month at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, BMW will also be launching a new range of M Performance Parts.

Similar to the previous BMW Performance range of official accessories, the new BMW M Performance Parts are designed to add some vigor to the regular BMW lineup.

We’re not talking about flimsy bolt-on pieces here.

BMW M Performance Parts are designed in close collaboration with the separate BMW M division and include powertrain, suspension, aerodynamics and cockpit components that provide a tangible increase in driving dynamics by enhancing engine power, reducing weight and optimizing aerodynamic properties.

Some of the items include black kidney grilles, M Performance exhaust systems, carbon fiber front splitters and M Performance steering wheels. However, a previous teaser video revealed more serious upgrades including full bodykits and M-badged brakes.

The initial BMW M Performance Parts have been specially developed for the latest 5-Series and 3-Series sedans, as well as the five-door 1-Series Hatchback. Note, if you already owned one of these vehicles many of the parts can be retrofitted to your car.

The new range will be offered this summer at authorized BMW centers.
