2012 Nissan Frontier
The area where the earthquakes struck, Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region, is home to a number of the world’s most famous automakers including Ferrari and Lamborghini.
We’ve heard a lot about Ferrari’s efforts to help the victims of the earthquakes, namely, the hosting of a special auction that will include the sale of a rare Ferrari 599XX Evo.
But now Nissan has announced that it too will provide some support for those affected by the earthquakes.
The Japanese automaker will make a contribution to the ongoing relief work being carried out by the Red Cross, including a cash payment of €100,000 (approximately $126,000) to the Italian Red Cross and a 2012 Navara pickup (sold locally as the Frontier) to the Regional Protection Agency in Emilia Romagna.
In addition, Nissan is also offering a preferential finance scheme, called Nissan Easy Restart, as a unique benefit for people affected by the earthquake. The program offers the opportunity to purchase a new Nissan car, scrapping the one destroyed or damaged by an earthquake, or disposing a used car trade-in, with an unconditional additional discount of €1,500 ($1,891).
