Mark Webber won his first grand prix of the year at the 2011 Formula 1 season finale yesterday at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

He was victorious at the Brazilian Grand Prix in 2009 and he repeated that feat--and bagged himself a fastest lap just for good measure--at yesterday’s race.

Starting at second on the grid, Webber trailed his Red Bull Racing team-mate Sebastian Vettel for much of the race. However, a gearbox issue saw Sebastian lose speed midway causing him to relinquish the lead to Webber on lap 29.

Nevertheless, Vettel still managed to finish the race only one position behind Mark Webber. They were followed by McLaren’s Jenson Button in third position and then the two Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa who took out the fourth and fifth places respectively.

At the close of the last race of the season, Red Bull Racing was able to lay claim to winning 23 grands prix out of the last 40 races and 13 out of the last 20.

In the Drivers' Championship Sebastian Vettel ends the season with 392 points, followed by Jenson Button on 270 points and Mark Webber on 258 points.

In the Constructors’ Championship Red Bull Racing’s tally ended the year at 650 points, followed by McLaren on 497 points and Ferrari on 375 points.
