The production version of the Toyota FT-86 is set to debut at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show

The production version of Toyota’s string of FT-86 concept cars is set to debut next week at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show and in the lead up to its unveiling a new teaser video has been posted, revealing many new details including parts of the interior, engine bay and overall design.

Of course, there’s not much unknown about the car, or its Subaru BRZ sibling, thanks to a number of information leaks last month.

Some of the details we know include the new look, most of the specs, and even some TRD accessories. The basic premise is a light and affordable sports car with a rear-wheel drive layout, naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine, and one of the lowest centers of gravity of any production car.

One vital piece of information that we aren’t likely to find out until Tokyo is the new car’s name. In the U.S. it’s likely to come on the market as a 2013 Scion FR-S, while elsewhere it may pick up the Celica name. Whatever it will be called, we don’t have long to wait now.

Press days for the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show kick off on November 30, full coverage of which you can access via our dedicated show page here.
